Special issue on
Computer Based Medical Systems
Computer based medical systems need a variety of complimentary disciplines in order to develop systems, applications, software, concepts and algorithms. They can provide a solution to a complex medical problem through an intuitive algorithm, a new emerging technology or a smart device. Such systems may act as the intermediator between end users and the ever-expanding health data through computational analysis, while delivering of knowledge in the demanding medical and healthcare contexts can be enhanced. With that in mind, the aim of this special issue is to solicit original contributions in the following non-exclusive themes that are aligned with IEEE CBMS 2017 conference:
- Decision Support and Recommendation Systems and Methods
- Data Analysis, Management and Knowledge Discovery
- Technology Enhanced Medical Education and Simulation
- Biomedical Signals and Imaging
- Games, Robotics and smart technologies
Health and Technology is jointly published by Springer and the IUPESM (International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine) in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
Authors attended the 30th IEEE Computer Based Medical Systems Symposium (IEEE CBMS2017) cbms2017.org are invited to submit papers expanding their work presented at the symposium. In addition, authors not attending IEEE CBMS 2017 are also invited to submit their work if it falls within the topic of the special issue. Only original and well-focused papers presenting previously unpublished work will be considered. The review will take place within 4 months and only papers with minor revisions will be accepted.
